Welcome Note

Heartiest Greetings and Welcome to KTJ 1st. International Youth Guitar Festival 2011

It is my pleasure to announce that Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar (KTJ) is the first school in Malaysia to ever host such an event in conjunction with our 20th anniversary since it was established in 1991. I am also happy to announce that we are inviting 25 local and international schools around the country including 12 universities and colleges as well as 25 international schools and 5 universities from all over South East Asia region. It is our hope that the festival will act as a platform for students and music teachers/ educators to meet one another, gain knowledge and exposure in guitar playing and techniques, as well as the opportunity to compete at an international level under one event.

I am happy that the winner of the competition will be receiving a free return airline ticket to attend/ participate either to Thailand International Guitar Festival 2011 (November) or Singapore International Guitar Festival 2011 (June) of their choice. The two categories being contested are Junior Category (below 18yo) and Senior Category (18-25yo). More information could be look upon in the festival blogspot at www.ktj-iygf.blogspot.com
